Why I Press On
About 6-7 years ago a new family moved in next to us. I could see their 3 young children playing in the yard from my office window. It was always a joy to be working on the computer and see the fun and laughter going on in their yard and soon my girls introduced themselves and added to the entertainment while I worked. I learned that our neighbor's son, Patrick, was battling neuroblastoma. He fought his battle for 5 years and he went to heaven in 2012 on his 9th birthday. On his good days he was running all over the yard playing with his friends. On his not so good days the yard seemed to have a heavy silence weighing it down.
Patrick was an inspiration to all he knew and his beautiful smile is still etched in my mind.
Three years ago I approached Greene's Fine Foods about partnering for a fundraising event that would benefit the Press On Fund - a fund started by Patrick's family. "Press On’s Unique Mission is to IDENTIFY feasible and ground breaking alternative therapies for neuroblastoma and AML and to INVEST monies raised in a manner to assure a CURE for these two specific childhood cancers within our lifetime."
